Abstract:Self-expanding metallic ureteral stents(EMUS)provides a safe and effective minimally invasive op-tion for treating ureteral strictures, with notable clinical advantages, particularly in malignant obstruction and complex cases.Following EMUS placement, patients exhibit marked symptomatic relief and improved quality of life.Howev-er,stent-related complications such as migration, infection, and obstruction require careful consideration, with nota-ble variations in the applicability of different stent types.Future advancements aim to integrate intelligent stent sys-tems and personalized therapeutic regimens to enhance efficacy and reduce adverse events. This study synthesizes re-cent research on EMUS,including applications of mainstream devices(e.g.,MemokathTM,Allium®,UventaTM),to comprehensively analyze their indications, implantation techniques, therapeutic outcomes, and associated complica-tions,while comparing the efficacy of various stent designs.Additionally,long-term follow-up data and cost-effective-ness are evaluated based on the literature data.
