Abstract:Objective:To preliminarily assess the safety and efficacy of transurethral thulium laser anatomical re-section of intramural ureteral wall tumors using thulium laser. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 5 patients who underwent transurethral anatomical resection of intramural ureteral wall tumors with thulium laser at the Department of Urology,Tongji Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Sci-ence and Technology, from January 2022 to January 2024.Perioperative and long-term complications were recorded to evaluate the safety of the procedure, while recurrence and progression during follow-up were used to assess its effi-cacy.Results:All 5 patients successfully completed the procedure, with an average surgical time of(35.2±12.1)minutes.The median follow-up period was 17 months(range:7~26 months).None of the patients developed symp-toms of ureteral stricture, such as hydronephrosis, upper urinary tract dilation,or renal function impairment. No re-currence was observed at the original tumor site. Conclusion:Preliminary exploration suggests that transurethral thuli-um laser anatomic resection of intramural ureteral tumors is feasible, with acceptable safety and clinical efficacy.
