Application of Thulium Laser in the Urological Field

Abstract：Thulium laser,or thulium fiber laser(TFL),offers enhanced clinical applications due to its higher water absorption rate and the ease of switching between pulsed and continuous wave modes.These physical character-istics provide superior capabilities in soft tissue vaporization and cutting,vaporization and ablation of urinary tract stones,and excellent hemostatic performance.This review summarizes the physical principles of thulium laser,a list of domestic and international equipment manufacturers,as well as its clinical applications and recent advancements in various urological diseases,including urinary tract stones,benign prostatic hyperplasia,non-muscle invasive urotheli-al carcinoma,renal cancer,and urethral stricture.
