Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of single-port laparoscopic scrotal orchiopexy combined with the use of a hernia needle in the treatment of children with low-lying and moderate-lying cryptorchi-dism.Methods:A total of 83 children with low-lying and moderate-lying cryptorchidism treated at Shijiazhuang Ma-ternal and Child Health Hospital between January 2023 and January 2024 were selected. The children were randomly assigned into two groups using a random number table:the observation group(42 cases)and the control group(41 cases). The observation group underwent single-port laparoscopic scrotal orchiopexy combined with a hernia needle, while the control group received traditional laparoscopic surgery. The surgical success rate, perioperative parameters, complications, pain levels, cosmetic outcomes, and family satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Re-sults:There was no statistically significant difference in surgical success rates between the two groups(P>0.05).The observation group had less intraoperative blood loss, shorter surgery time, and shorter postoperative hospital stay compared to the control group. The VAS scores at 3,12,and 24 hours postoperatively, complication rates, and VSS scores were all significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group, with higher family satisfac-tion in the observation group. All differences were statistically significant(P<0.05 of all).Conclusion:Single-port laparoscopic scrotal orchiopexy combined with a hernia needle is effective and safe in the treatment of low-lying and moderate-lying cryptorchidism in children. This technique results in less pain, fewer complications, better cosmetic outcomes, and higher family satisfaction, making it a valuable approach for clinical practice.
