Safety and Efficacy of Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Combined with Thulium Laser Cyst Decapsulation for the Treatment of Simple Renal Cysts

Abstract：Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with thuli-um laser cystectomy for the treatment of simple renal cysts.Methods:A total of 56 patients with simple renal cysts who were treated at Chongqing Medical University Affiliated Yongchuan Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a random number table:the experimental group(28 cases)and the control group(28 cases).The experimental group underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with thulium laser cystectomy,while the control group received conventional laparoscopic cystectomy.The general conditions of the patients,operation time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative visual analog scale(VAS)score,perioperative biochemical parameters,duration of drainage tube placement,and length of hospital stay were observed and compared between the two groups.Results:There were no significant differences between the two groups in gen-eral patient characteristics.The experimental group had significantly shorter operation time,duration of drainage tube placement,and length of hospital stay compared to the control group.Intraoperative blood loss,VAS scores,and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels were significantly lower in the experimental group(P<0.05 for all).There were no significant differences in preoperative and postoperative blood creatinine,plasma osmolality(Posm),and white blood cell count(WBC)between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications was similar be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with thulium laser cystecto-my for simple renal cysts is a minimally invasive,time-efficient,low-bleeding,and fast-recovery treatment modality,demonstrating safety and efficacy.
