Abstract:Objective:To analyze the factors influencing the detachment of anastomotic staples after circumci-sion using a disposable circumcision stapler in adults. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 625 pa-tients undergoing circumcision with disposable foreskin sutures from January 2020 to September 2023 in the Depart-ment of Urology,411 Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University.According to whether or not removed nailings by themselves, they were divided into 558 patients who removed nailings by themselves and 67 patients who required physician assistance.Univariate and multivariate logistic analysis were performed to analyze the influencing factors of anastomotic nail shedding. Results:Multivariate logistic analysis showed that age(OR=5.587,95%CI:1.922-15.062;P=0.000),bath frequency(OR=1.538,95%CI:1.062-2.225;P=0.023),morning erection frequency(OR=5.157,95%CI:1.344-13.758;P=0.001),preoperative sexual activityfrequency(OR=5.169,95%CI:1.348-13.774;P=0.001),libido(OR=2.318,95%CI:1.156-4.648;P=0.018),diabetesmellitus(OR=2.587,95%CI:1.321-5.062;P=0.006)and balanitis(OR=2.572,95%CI:1.308-5.126;P=0.008)were independent risk factors of anastomotic nail shedding after circumcision with disposable foreskin suture(P<0.05).Conclusion:Age,bath fre-quency,morning erection frequency, preoperative sexual activity frequency, libido, diabetes mellitus and balanitis are the main rinfluencing factors for staple detachment when using a disposable circumcision stapler.
