Research progress of laser en bloc resection of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer

Abstract：The standard treatment for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer is transurethral resection of bladder tu-mor(TURBT)combined with intravesical chemotherapy or immunotherapy.TURBT has the advantages of less trauma,quick recovery,and repeated incision,but it has some shortcomings in safety and accurate pathological evalu-ation.However,when laser is used for bladder tumor,it will not produce obturator nerve reflex,but also reduce sur-gical bleeding.Currently,laser surgery is mainly carried out in en bloc resection.Due to its vaporization cutting,laser avoids the possibility of tissue charring,so the enucleated basal muscle tissue of the bladder tumor was preserved in-tact,which has unique advantages for pathological grading and clinical staging.This article reviews the technical ad-vantages,current situation and progress of laser en bloc resection of bladder tumor.
