Primary renal carcinoid tumors with horseshoe kidney:a case report and review of literature

Abstract：Primary renal carcinoid tumors(PRCTs)are extremely rare.Renal malformation,such as horseshoe kidney,is a high risk factor for PRCTs.Diagnosis requires histopathological examination,and surgery is the main treatment.Though the prognosis of PRCTs is well,metastasis of liver,bone,brain,and lymph nodes have been ob-served and the follow-up is necessary.This article reports the clinical data and course of treatment of a patient diag-nosed as PRCTs with horseshoe kidney,and the clinical and pathological characteristics,diagnosis and treatment methods and prognostic factors of PRCTs in conjunction with the literature.
