Analysis of clinicopathological features and therapeutic effect of 16 cases with sarcomatoid carcinomaofbladder

Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinicopathologic features,diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of sarcoma-toid carcinoma of bladder.Methods:The clinicopathological and follow-up data of 16 patients with sarcomatoid carci-noma of bladder admitted to our hospital from December 2006 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed.Re-sults:Among the 16 patients,11 were males and 5 were females.The average age is 58 years.The main clinical manifestations were gross hematuria.The maximum diameter of tumors ranged from 0.8 to 13cm.All the 16 patients underwent surgical treatment,3 patients underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumor,5 underwent partial cys-tectomy,and 8 underwent radical cystectomy plus urine diversion.Postoperative pathological stage:4 cases of T1N0M0 stage,1 case of T1N0M1 stage,3 cases of T2aN0M0 stage,2 cases of T2bN0M0 stage,1 case of T3bN0M1 stage,2 cases of T4aN0M0 stage,1 case of T4aN0M1 stage,2 cases of T4aN2M0 stage.13 cases were followed up,and 3 cases were lost.The follow-up time was 4-149 months,with a median follow-up time of 32 months.6 patients died and the median survival time was 6.5 months.7 patients survived the operation,with a medi-an survival of 95 months.Conclusion:Sarcomatoid carcinoma of bladder is a rare malignant tumor with poor progno-sis and no optimal treatment plan.Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for patients to achieve better out-comes.
