Abstract:Objective:To investigate the influences of antegrade ureteral stent placement on the operative time and renal function in patients with tuberculous ureteral stricture. Methods:A total of 64 patients with tuberculous ure-teral stricture admitted to our hospital from February 2020 to February 2022 were selected, all patients were assigned to the control group(n=32)and the study group(n=32)according to the random number table method, the study group was treated with anterograde ureteral stent implantation, while the control group was treated with retrograde ureteral stent implantation;blood urea nitrogen(BUN)was measured by urease method;serum creatinine(Scr)was measured by immunoturbidimetry;the level of cystatin C(CysC)was detected by ELISA;the duration of surgery, success rate ofone-time catheterization, intraoperative bleeding volume, hospitalization days, clinical symptom re-lief,postoperative complications, levels of BUN,Scr and CysC,and postoperative follow-up were compared be-tween the two groups. Results:The successrate of one-time catheterization was significantly higher in study group than in control group, and the surgical duration and hospital stay were significantly lower in study group than in con-trol group, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the study group had a high-er reliefrate of clinical symptoms[84.38%(27/32)vs.59.38%(19/32)]and a lower rate of complications[25.00%(8/32)vs.59.38%(19/32)],and the differences were statistically significant[χ2=4.947,P=0.026;χ2=7.752,P= 0.005].There were no statistically significant differences in preoperative levels of BUN,Scr,and CysC between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with preoperative levels, postoperative levels of BUN,Scr,and CysC were all signif-icantly lower and levelof study group were lower than thatof the control group, the difference being statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).No ureteral stent displacement, stenosis,or occlusion occurred during postoperative follow-up.Con-clusion:The antegrade ureteral stent placement is more beneficial to the treatment of tuberculous ureteral stricture, with short operation time, high success rate, fewer complications, high reliefrate of clinical symptoms, and rapid re-covery of renal function.
