The current application and advances in robotic assisted adrenalectomy

Abstract：With the development of robotic techniques, robotics have been applied in a variety of urologic surgeries.Robotic assisted adrenalectomy offered an alternative option of minimally invasive surgery.The conclusion about the application and advances of the surgery is limited.Robotic assisted adrenalectomy could be completed via transperitoneal or retroperitoneal approaches.Compared with laparoscopic surgery, robotic assisted adrenalectomy is equally safe and feasible, and shows similar outcomes such as shorter operation time, less blood loss and shorter hospital stay.We perform a literature review about robotic assisted adrenalectomy, reviewing its technical characteristics, indications, surgical efficacy, etc.
