Laparoscopic partial cystectomy for 1 2 cases of bladder paraganglioma

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of bladder paraganglio-ma.Methods:From October 2005 to October 2015,the clinical data and treatments of 12 patients with bladder paragan-glioma were retrospectively reviewed.Results:All patients underwent laparoscopic resection smoothly without requiring a conversion to a traditional open procedure.The operative time was (117±22)min and intraoperative blood loss was (108 ±15)mL.No patient displayed perioperative complications and all patients recovered smoothly.The tumor was bladder paraganglioma confirmed pathologically.During a follow-up period of 3 6 months,the symptom of the patients disap-peared and the blood pressure was normal.No recurrence occurred.Conclusions:Laparoscopic partial cystectomy with ad-vantage of mini-invasion,fewer complications and rapid recovery may become an alternative surgical method for patients with bladder paraganglioma.
