Percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with flexible ureteroscope for complex kidney stones

Abstract：Objective:To study the efficacy of percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with flexible ureteroscope for complex kidney stones.Methods:180 cases of complex kidney stones admitted at our hospital from 2012 to 2013 were treated,and randomly divided into observation group and control group (n =90 each).The patients in observa-tion group were subjected to percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined with flexible ureteroscope,and those in control group were given percutaneous nephrolithotomy.Operation time,hospital stay,stone clearance rate,and complica-tions were compared between two groups.Results:The operation time,and hospital stay were significantly shorter in observation group than in control group (P <0.05).The stone clearance rate,and incidence of complication in ob-servation group were significantly lower than in control group (P <0.05).Conclusions:Percutaneous nephrolithoto-my combined with flexible ureteroscope for complex kidney stones was safe and effective.
