Abstract：To-evaluate-the-safety-and-efficacy-of-ureteral-catheter-place-ment-during-pneu-matic-litho-tri-psy-for-proxi-mal-ureteral-stones-.Methods-:Fro-m-January-2011to-Dece-mber-2013-,67-patients-with-proxi-mal-ure-teral-stones-were-treated-with-ureteroscopic-pneu-matic-lithotripsy-.They-were-divided-into-two-groups-,ureteral-cath-eter-assisted-group-(20-cases-)and-conventional-therapy-group-(47-cases-),in-terms-of-ureteral-catheter-place-ment-during-lithotripsy-.Results-:There-was-no-si-gnificant-difference-between-the-two-groups-with-regard-to-operative-time-and-co-mplication-rate-.Stone-free-rate-in-ureteral-catheter-place-ment-group-was-significantly-higher-than-in-conven-tional-therapy-group-(100-%-vs-.76??6-%,χ2-=5??6-,P-=0??026-).Conclusions-:The-place-ment-of-ureteral-catheter-is-val-uable-during-ureteroscopic-pneu-matic-lithotripsy-for-manage-ment-of-proxi-mal-ureteral-stones-,which-is-acco-mpa-nied-with-a-higher-stone-free-rate-without-co-mpro-mising-the-operative-time-and-safety-.
