Abstract：To expl ore the laparoscopic anasto mosis bet ween the resi dual urethra and neobladder . Methods :Fro m Jan .201 0 to Jan .201 4 ,the method of se micircle running suture from side to side with double needles was used to anasto mose the resi dual urethra and neobladder in 46 patients with bladder urothelial carcino ma who un-der went laparoscopic radical cystecto my and orthotopic urinary di versi on .Results :The mean operating ti me for the anasto mosis was 25 min (range 1 8 to 35 min ).Sli ght urine leakage occurred in 3 cases postoperati vely ,which disap-peared two weeks later naturally .The mean follow- up was 1 3 months (range 1 to 36 months ),during which ,all pa-tients were di urnally continent .Conclusions :In vie w of the advantages such as short anasto mositc ti me ,si mple ma-ni pulati on and less co mplicati ons ,the method of se micircle running suture from side to side with double needles is worthy to be utilized in the anasto mosis bet ween the resi dual urethra and neobladder.
