Abstract：Objective:Toexploretheclinicalvalueofureteroscopyinopenpyelolithotomyforthetreatmentof co mplex renal calculi .Methods:Fro m Nove mber 2009 to August 2013 ,a total of 16 patients with co mplex renal cal-culi were treated with open pyelolithoto my under the assistance of ureteroscopy .Results:All cases were successfully operated without majorcomplications.Thecalculi werecompletelyremovedin14casesaftertheoperation.There-sidualcalculiintheother2patients werefragmentedandfinallydischargedbyESWL.Conclusions:Inviewthaturet-eroscopy-assisted open pyelolithotomy in treating complex renal calculi has the advantages of small trauma,less hemorrhageandcomplications,maximallyprotectingrenalfunctionandhigherstone-freerate,itdeservespopulari-zation and application in basic level hospital .
