Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of integration of transbranchial pulmonary biopsy (TBPB) and brush biopsy
with percutaneous needle aspiration biopsy (PNAB) in patients with peripheral pulmonary disease. Methods:Under fluoro-
scopic guidance,TBPB was taken 163 times in 116 patients with peripheral pulmonary disease, among whom 37 patients
with negative TBPB underwent PNAB 42 times totally. Results: The positive rates of TBPB and PNAB were 68.1% and
78.4% respectively. However, the positive rate of combination of TBPB and PNAB was 93.1%. Conclusion:Both TBPB
and brush biopsy with PNAB are valuable procedures in diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary disease.
