Abstract:Objective: To assess the clinical significance of potassium-loading test in the differentiation of nonspecific electrocardio- graphic ST-T abnormalities. Methods: Ten youths with ST-T and/or V5 wave abnormalities took orally 10% potassium chloride 20 ml,and their electrocardiograms were examined and analyzed 1 hour later. Results:After taking orally potassium salts, their T waves elevated in all leads, especially in Ⅱ, Ⅲ and aVF leads. Conclusion: The potassium-loading test may make the nonspecific electrocardiographic ST-T abnormality regular so as to avoid non-necessary invasive examinations.
