The Changes of Plasma Somatostatin and Prostaglandin E2 in Patients with Hepatic Cirrhosis and Duodenal Ulcer
Abstract:Objective:To observe the changes of plasma somatostatin(SS)and prostaglandin E2 (PGF-2)in patients with hepatic cirrhosis and duodenal ulcer. Methods:SS and PGFa were measured in 20 duodenal ulcer patients,20 hepatic cirrhosis patients, and 20 healthy persons by radioactive immunoassay. Results:SS was (39.5+9.3)μg/L, (24.1+4.4)μg/L,end (20.3+7.6)μg/L in healthy persons, duodenal ulcer and hepatic cirrhosis patients respectively. PGE2 was (2617±344)μg/L,(2102+507)μg/L,and (1308+273)μg/L in healthy persons, duodenal ulcer and hepatic cirrhosis patients respectively. There was a significant difference in SS and PGE2 between duodenal ulcer patients, hepatic cirrhosis patients, and healthy persons(P<0.01). Conclusion:The reduced SS and PGE2 may be important factors involved in duodenal ulcer and portal hypertensive gastropathy.
