Effect of Intravenous Thrombolytic Treatment on QT Corrected Dispersion in Acute Myocardial Infarction
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of intravenous thrombolytic treatment on QT corrected dispersion (QTcd) in acute
myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods:QTcd were measured in 64 AMI patients using synchronous 12 lead electrocardio
graph pre and 3 hours post intravenous thrombolytic treatment. QTcd were compared in patients with and without fatal ar
rhythmia. Thirty healthy persons were in control group. Results: There was a significant difference in QTcd between AMI
and control group before treatment (P<0.01 ). QTcd significantly shortened in reperfusion group after thrombolytic treat
ment, and there was no significant change of QTcd in non-perfusion group. There was a significant difference of QTcd be
tween this two groups (P<0.01). QTcd were longer in patients with fatal arrhythmia than that in patients without fatal
arrhythmia. Conclusion:Shortened QTcd and low incidence of fatal arrhythmia can be obtained by successful thrombolytic
treatment in AMI.
