Relationship between Monophasic Action Potentials and Ischemic Arrhythmias in Acute Myocardial Infarction Canine
Abstract:To investigate the relationship between parameter changes of monophasic action potentials (MAP) and ischemic myocardium triggered activity and ischenic arrhythmias. Methods:The records of Ⅲ° AVB and 30 minute ischemia under the stimulation of PES were performed with Frarz electric pole in 12 anesthetized dogs. Results:MAP amplitude decreased from (19.04±8.66) mV to (10.34 ± 8.29) mV at 30 minutes of myocardial ischemia in control group (P<0.01), and MAP-D50 changed from (205.71 ± 30.17) ms to ( 172.14 ± 34.05) ms ( P < 0.01 ). The afterdepolarizations were recorded in 6 of 12 dogs. EAD-induced triggered activity was observed in 2 dogs (33.3%) ,and DAD-induced in 1 dog ( 16.7 % ). There was a positive correlation between EAD amplitude and cycle length ( r = 0.87, P <0.05), RCL and PCL ( r = 0.84, P <0.05), and 36.4 % VTs showed acceleration to overdrive. Conclusion: MAP recording can be used as a reliable electrophysilogic index for evaluation ischemia. This finding, supports the role of triggered activity resulted from EAD as well as in the genesis of ischemic arrhythmias in vivo.
