Relationship between the Levels of Plasma Homocysteine and Plasma Lipid in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease
Abstract:To evaluate the relationship between the levels of plasma homocysteine (Hcy) plasma lipid in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods:With high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), the levels of plasma Hcy and plasma lipid 〔such as TC,TG,LDL and Lp(a) 〕 were measured in 174 patients with CHD who were identified by coronary angiography and 128 controls. Results:The levels of Hey and lipid in patients with CHD were significantly higher than those in controls (P<0.05).The level of Hcy positively related with the severity of CHD (r =0.515 6,P<0.01).No relationship were observed between Hcy and lipid levels (P > 0.05). Conclusion:Hcy is a new and important risk factor for patients with CHD.
