Combinational lntervention Therapy of Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the effect of the combinational therapy of transcatheter arterial chemo-embolization (TACE) and ultra-sonography guided intervention on unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: Sixty-two patients with unresectableHCC were divided into two groups at random. Group B( n = 31 ) was treated with combinational intervention therapy. After 2 weeksof TACE, ultrasonography guided intervention therapy was performed for several times. Group A (n = 31 ) was treated with TACEalone as control. Results: All cases were followed up for 6 months to 2 years. The 1-year and 2-year survival rates in group B(58.06% and 38.17% ) were higher than those in group A (22.58% and 9.68% ) (all P<0.01).Conclusion:For unresectableHCC, the effect of conbiuational intervention therapy significantly excels that of TACE alone.
