Research on Suzhou's Contribution to the"Belt and Road Initiative"in the Decade and Development Prospects

Abstract：Suzhou is a starting point of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI).Over the past decade,Suzhou has deeply integrated itself into the joint construction of the BRI.Leveraging its strengths in"Suzhou Manufacturing","Suzhou Smart Manufacturing","Suzhou Construction","Suzhou Investment","Suzhou Technology"and"Suzhou Education",it has forged a path of win-win cooperation with relevant countries and made contributions to the advancement of the BRI.The achievements gained are as follows:it has expanded its"circle of friends"for international friendship,built the"Four Silk Roads"covering land,sea,air and internet,realized the dual improvement of both efficiency and quality in economic and trade cooperation,improved the diversified investment and financing system,and consolidated the public opinion foundation for friendly exchanges.Based on an analysis of the opportunities and challenges currently faced by the BRI,and in line with the new requirements for high-quality development,this paper provides forward-looking guidance for Suzhou's government and enterprises in their engagement with the BRI over the next decade:to pursue a green Silk Road,a path of innovative development,and a path with Suzhou characteristics.
