A Study on the Ways of Government Purchasing Service in City Village Community Governance:Based on Interviews with Two"City Villages"

Abstract：As a unique phenomenon in China,"city village"has an important connection with the process of China's urbanization.In this study,the concept and definition of"city village"are determined based on the previous studies.This study analyzes the relationship between the two city villages occupied by migrant laborers,namely Taizhou Xiabao Village and Shanghai Hu Xing Village.We analyze the interview data in light of Weber's theory of multiple stratification and Schultz's social capital theory to understand the social status of the"city village"where migrant workers live in order to explore the approach by which the government can purchase social services to carry out"city village"community governance.
