Abstract:Huge domestic demand for energy leads to China’s increasing dependence on outsourcing oil and gas overseas. In this case, it has become an important orientation in national energy strategy to seek diversified energy imports. In the middle of Eurasia and at the heart of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Central Asia has become the hub of the international politics owing to its geographical significance and rich oil and gas resources. It has also become one of the most important suppliers of energy besides Middle East. To this end, this paper introduces social network approach to analyze the energy trade structure between China and Central Asia in the hope of stimulating more reflections on further cooperation between the two parties in this respect.
