Near Infrared Relfection Spectroscopy for Determination of Polyester Fiber and Cotton Content in Textiles
TANG Chang-bo
Abstract:The determination of polyesterfiber and cotton content in textiles by using near infrared reflection spectroscopy (NIR) is investigated.NIR spectroscopy is used to determine the contents of polyesterfiber and cotton in 75 samples, including 50 samples for model validation and 25 samples for model prediction. The result shows that PLS model withfirst order derivative treatment and the wave range of 9918.4-6094.4 cm-1 can exhibit better prediction efficiency. The coefficient of determination (R2) and the root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC) are 98.31and 1.26 respectively;the coefficient of determination (R2) and the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) 0.932 8和0.293 respectively. It suggests that NIR spectroscopy can provide an accurate, reliable and nondestructive method for evaluating polyesterfiber and cotton content in textiles.
