Mathematics Education and Cultivation of College Students’ Creative Thinking

Abstract：The cultivation of innovative competence is one of the important basic projects in constructing an innovative nation while innovative thinking is at the core,which includes pioneering activities,creative thinking and original achievements. Innovative thinking features open,inclusive,flexible and agile thinking style,and thinking mode mixed with divergence and convergence,certainty and uncertainty,seeking common ground and difference,the imaginative and the abstract,logic and the non-logic,intuition and inspiration, and thinking results of novelty,uniqueness and transcendence. College students’innovative competence is core competitiveness for their career. Mathematics enjoys the features of abstractness,accuracy and comprehensiveness and therefore plays a particular role in cultivating students’creative thinking. It is suggested that higher mathematics teaching in vocational colleges should be reformed in course orientation,information technology focus,learning space expansion,teacher training and creative competence improvement in order to play its due role in cultivating high-quality and skilled talents.
