Survey on the Structure of Income and Expenses of the Peasants after Homestead Replacement and Some Policy Proposals:Take Songze Community of Suzhou Industrial Park for Example

Abstract：Songze community Suzhou Jiangsu province is a typical one for relocated peasants after homestead replacement. Based on the data of the the balance of payments and the statistical analysis,we find that the average income of the residents in that community is slightly higher than the per capita disposable income of urban residents, and that the basic distribution pattern takes on the shape of an olive. The government does an evidently effective job for such peasants in employment,income increase,social security and other aspects. However,there are still some problems such as the large gap between the rich and the poor,weak income increase of low-income people, the incompatibility with urban life in terms of consumption habits and behavior,the low level in a wide coverage of basic social security,which still need the support of the government and their own self improvement to lift up the quality of their life.
