Abstract:Technologies of analytical spectrophotometry (violet VIS, near-infrared NIR, mid-infrared MIR), global positioning system (GPS) and the geographic information system(GIS) are employed to design and implement a water quality monitoring system for Taihu Lake. The system is able to obtain and process relevant effect information of TN,TP and chlorophylla on cyanobacteria in a rapid, accurate, continuous and intuitive way. A mathematical model of cyanobacteria movement is then built based on the monitor data. The decisive result of cyanobacteria movement is finally output. The system offers a new means for monitoring and warning cyanobacteria in Taihu Lake. It can also provide government and relevant departments of environmental monitoring with support for rapidly mastering cyanobacteria movement and making a strategic decision..
