Abstract：According to the status quo and the major problems of practical training teaching in metallurgy specialty,this paper discusses how to set up its teaching procedures and how to enhance students' the engineering and technical capability in metallurgical application-oriented colleges in the light of the exploration in the following aspects:the orientation of cultivating talents,the building of experimental teaching system, the changing of professional training contents,the improvement of practical training management files,the building of high-quality faculty in professional teaching,the betterment of quality control system of practical training teaching,the building of special practical training bases,the exploration and improvement of practical training teaching,the combination and improvement of production,teaching and research, and the increase of the frequency of utilizing large experimental facilities.
