Effects of Tiaodu Lijin Acupuncture Combined with Acupoint Embedding Thread on Lumbar Spinal Mobility,Muscle Strength and Pain-related Factors in Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical effect of the combination of Tiaodu LiJin acupuncture with acupoint embedding thread in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH)based on the changes in lumbar spine range of motion,muscle strength and pain-related factors.Methods A total of 102 LDH patients admitted to Huzhen Central Health Center of Longyou County from June 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into celecoxib group and combined treatment group,with 51 cases in each group.Patients in the celecoxib group were treated with oral celecoxib capsules,while patients in the combined treatment group were treated with Tiaodu LiJin acupuncture combined with acupoint embedding thread on the basis of oral celecoxib capsules.The clinical efficacy,lumbar spine range of motion,lumbar muscle strength,pain-related factors and treatment safety of the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Results The total effective rate of the combined treatment group was higher than that of the celecoxib group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the lumbar flexion,extension,and ipsilateral lateral flexion range of motion,as well as the lumbar flexion,extension,rotation and lateral flexion muscle strength of the combined treatment group were greater than those of the celecoxib group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),substance P(SP),and neuropeptide Y(NPY)in the combined treatment group were lower than those in the celecoxib group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Tiaodu LiJin acupuncture with acupoint embedding thread in the treatment of LDH has definite efficacy,can improve the lumbar spine range of motion and muscle strength,regulate the levels of pain-related factors,and has good safety.
