Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of epinephrine combined with budesonide in the treatment of acute laryngitis complicated with laryngeal obstruction in children. Methods A total of 100 children with acute laryngitis complicated with laryngeal obstruction admitted to Luoyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 50 cases in each group. Both groups of children received conventional symptomatic and supportive treatment. The control group was treated with budesonide, while the observation group was treated with epinephrine combined with budesonide. The clinical efficacy, time to disappearance of main symptoms, serum inflammatory factor levels before and after treatment, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.00%,which was higher than 76.00%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time to disappearance of stridor, dyspnea, barking cough and hoarseness in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum interleukin-6(IL-6)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Epinephrine combined with budesonide is effective in the treatment of acute laryngitis complicated with laryngeal obstruction in children, achieving a synergistic effect, shortening the time to disappearance of main symptoms, reducing inflammatory response, and not increasing adverse reactions.
