Analysis of the Related Factors Affecting the Prognostic of Patients with Chronic Sinusitis after Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Abstract:Objective To explore the related factors influencing the prognosis of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)after endoscopic sinus surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 70 CRS patients who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery at Xinyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2023 to December 2024.The patients were divided into a recurrence group and a non-recurrence group based on whether they had a recurrence within 6 months of follow-up.The clinical data of the two groups were compared, and the indicators with significant differences were subjected to Logistic regression analysis to explore the factors influencing the prognosis recovery of CRS patients after endoscopic sinus surgery. Results A total of 70 CRS patients were included in this study, among whom 15 had a recurrence, accounting for 21.43%,and were included in the recurrence group;55 did not have a recurrence, accounting for 78.57%,and were included in the non-recurrence group. There were statistically significant differences in the percentage of peripheral eosinophils(EOS),preoperative severity score of the disease, the proportion of long-term use of nasal decongestants in the past, and the proportion of regular medication and dressing changes after the operation(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that a history of long-term use of nasal decongestants,no regular medication or dressing change after the operation, elevated peripheral EOS percentage, the preoperative condition was serious were independent risk factors for recurrence in CRS patients(OR=8.396,6.714,6.842,1.766,P<0.05).Conclusion A history of long-term use of nasal decongestants,no regular medication or dressing change after the operation, elevated peripheral EOS percentage, and the preoperative condition are independent risk factors for recurrence in CRS patients.By analyzing these factors,high-risk groups can be accurately screened out, providing strong support for the formulation of clinical prevention and treatment plans.
