Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of pulmonary rehabilitation training in airway management of stroke patients after tracheotomy. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 150 stroke patients who underwent tracheotomy in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024.The patients were divided into a control group(73 cases)and an observation group(77 cases)based on the treatment methods.Patients in the control group received conventional airway management, while those in the observation group received pulmonary rehabilitation training in addition to the treatment in the control group. The clinical efficacy, satisfaction with airway humidification, incidence of pulmonary infection, sputum viscosity before and after treatment, blood gas analysis indicators, pulmonary function indicators, and the duration of weaning and hospital stay were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);the total satisfaction rate of airway humidification in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);the total incidence of pulmonary infection in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);after treatment, the sputum viscosity score and arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCO2)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the arterial oxygen partial pressure(PaO2),potential of hydrogen(pH),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC),and peak expiratory flow rate(PEF)were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the duration of weaning and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of pulmonary rehabilitation training in airway management of stroke patients after tracheotomy can enhance clinical efficacy, improve airway humidification, reduce the risk of pulmonary infection, lower sputum viscosity, improve blood gas indicators and lung function, and shorten the duration of weaning and hospital stay.
