Abstract:Objective To screen out the independent risk factors for short-term mortality in polytrauma patients in the emergency resuscitation room,in order to provide a basis for early identification of high-risk patients in clinical practice. Methods The clinical data of 96 polytrauma patients admitted to the emergency resuscitation room of Dianjiang County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Chongqing from June 2023 to December 2024 were collected for a retrospective study. The patients were divided into a survival group(77 cases)and a death group(19 cases)based on their survival status within 24 hours of admission.Univariate analysis was conducted to screen potential related variables, and further multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the independent risk factors for short-term mortality in polytrauma patients. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in Glasgow coma scale(GCS),sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA),injury severity score(ISS),blood pressure(BP),platelet count(PLT),the levels of lactate(LAC),hemoglobin(Hb),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),and creatinine(Cr)between the two groups(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that GCS,SOFA,ISS,BP,and LAC were independent risk factors for mortality in polytrauma patients in the emergency resuscitation room(P<0.05).Conclusion GCS,SOFA,ISS,BP,and LAC are independent risk factors for short-term mortality in polytrauma patients in the emergency resuscitation room, which can provide an important basis for early identification of high-risk patients in clinical practice.
