Abstract:Objective To explore the effect and influencing factors of iRoot BP Plus pulpotomy in the treatment of deep caries in primary molars. Methods A total of 163 cases(228 teeth)of children with deep caries in primary molars treated with iRoot BP Plus pulpotomy in Pingdingshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from February 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the research subjects. After 12 months of treatment, the success rate of treatment was calculated according to the clinical and radiographic evaluation criteria of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry(AAPD),and the cases were divided into a failure group(42 teeth)and a success group(186 teeth)based on the treatment outcome. The related indicators of the two groups of teeth were compared by univariate analysis, and the indicators with statistical significance in the univariate analysis were included in the Logistic regression model to analyze the risk factors affecting the therapeutic effect. Results A total of 186 teeth with deep caries in primary molars were successfully treated with iRoot BP Plus pulpotomy, with a clinical success rate of 81.58%,42 teeth were judged as treatment failure.Univariate analysis showed that there was no statistically significant difference in gender, age, tooth position, dental arch, and hemostasis time between the two groups(P>0.05),there was a statistically significant difference in the number of carious surfaces and the proportion of crown restoration methods(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the number of carious surfaces was an important risk factor(OR=2.052),but it was not statistically significant(P>0.05);the method of crown restoration was an independent risk factor affecting the clinical efficacy(P<0.05).Conclusion For children with deep caries in primary molars, the method of crown restoration is an independent risk factor affecting the clinical efficacy when treated with iRoot BP Plus pulpotomy. This suggests that in clinical practice, the caries condition of the child should be fully evaluated, and an appropriate crown restoration method should be selected to improve the success rate of treatment.
