Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical symptoms and laboratory test results of suspected dengue fever patients, and provide scientific basis for the early diagnosis and treatment of dengue fever. Methods A total of 121 suspected dengue fever patients admitted to the Guangdong Province Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to February 2025 were statistically analyzed.Dengue virus nucleic acid was detected by fluorescence polymerase chain reaction(PCR).The relevant data of confirmed dengue fever cases were retrospectively analyzed, including epidemiological characteristics and clinical symptoms, and the results were analyzed in combination with blood routine tests.121 healthy people undergoing physical examinations were selected as the control group. Results Among the 121 suspected dengue fever patients,92 cases were nucleic acid positive and 29 cases were nucleic acid negative.Compared with the nucleic acid negative group, there was no statistically significant difference in blood routine indicators in the nucleic acid positive group(P>0.05).Compared with the healthy population, the white blood cell(WBC)count, absolute neutrophil count(NEUT#),absolute lymphocyte count(LYMPH#),platelet(PLT)count, and hemoglobin concentration(HGB)in the nucleic acid positive group were significantly decreased, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The red blood cell(RBC)count and absolute monocyte count(MONO#)did not show significant changes, with no statistically significant differences(P>0.05).The confirmed dengue fever cases in this group were mainly DENV-1 type(92.4%),and the main clinical symptoms were fever, bone and joint/muscle pain, headache, and fatigue. The significant reduction in WBC,PLT,LYMPH#,and NEUT#accounted for 55.4%,47.8%,75.0%,and 29.3%respectively,and the reduction in HGB concentration accounted for 13.0%.Conclusion The clinical features of dengue fever cases in this study were significant, and the epidemic was mainly caused by DENV-1 type. Some patients had abnormal blood cell indicators.Due to the similarity of clinical symptoms and blood cell results between dengue fever infection and other diseases such as respiratory tract infections,to avoid misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, clinicians should conduct epidemiological investigations and conduct comprehensive analyses based on clinical symptoms and laboratory tests to achieve early diagnosis and treatment and early prevention and control.
