Abstract:Objective To explore the risk factors for the severity of hyperhomocysteinemia in non-dialysis patients with stage 3-5 chronic kidney disease. Methods The clinical data of 165 non-dialysis patients with stage 3-5 chronic kidney disease admitted to Leshan People's Hospital from September 2016 to September 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the severity of hyperhomocysteinemia, they were divided into mild elevation group(19 cases),moderate elevation group(84 cases),and severe elevation group(62 cases). The general data and related laboratory indicators of the three groups were compared by univariate analysis. The indicators with statistical significance in the univariate analysis were included in the multivariate ordered Logistic regression model to analyze the independent risk factors affecting the severity of hyperhomocysteinemia. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in age, hemoglobin concentration, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, and blood uric acid levels among the three groups(P<0.05).The multivariate ordered Logistic regression model showed that increased age, elevated serum creatinine, and elevated blood uric acid were independent risk factors affecting the severity of hyperhomocysteinemia(P<0.05).Conclusion The factors leading to the progression of hyperhomocysteinemia in non-dialysis patients with stage 3-5 chronic kidney disease include increased age, elevated serum creatinine, and elevated blood uric acid.
