Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and influencing factors of headache severity in patients with patent foramen ovale(PFO)and migraine. Methods A total of 130 PFO patients admitted to 990 Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force from June 2021 to September 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into headache group(42 cases)and non-headache group(88 cases)based on the presence or absence of migraine.Baseline data and laboratory indicators of the two groups were compared.Spearman analysis was used to analyze the factors related to the headache impact test(HIT-6)score of PFO patients, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the independent risk factors for PFO patients with migraine. Results The proportion of female patients, family history of migraine, platelet count(PLT),homocysteine(Hcy)level, and PFO diameter in the headache group were higher or longer than those in the non-headache group, and the age was younger than that in the non-headache group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the HIT-6 score of PFO patients was positively correlated with PLT,Hcy level, and PFO diameter, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that PLT level and PFO diameter were independent risk factors for PFO patients with migraine, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion PLT level and PFO diameter are closely related to the occurrence of migraine and headache severity in PFO patients.High PLT level and large PFO diameter increase the risk of migraine.
