Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of conservative treatment methods(exercise observation, specific body movement therapy, and wearing braces)adopted by Shenzhen Youth Spinal Health Center(SYSHC)for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS).Methods A total of 106 AIS patients who received conservative treatment at SYSHC from March 2019 to August 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into an exercise observation group(34 cases),a body therapy group(35 cases),and a brace therapy group(37 cases)according to different treatment regimens.Their basic information was collected.A retrospective analysis was conducted including gender, age, curvature,Cobb Angle number and Risser sign, etc. The therapeutic effects of the three groups of patients were compared. Results The follow-up time of patients in the exercise observation group ranged from 12 to 59 months, with an average of(23.70±10.90)months.The treatment success rate was 70.59%.Among them, the conditions of 24 patients were stable or improved, and the conditions of 10 patients progressed. The follow-up period for patients in the body therapy group ranged from 12 to 42 months, with an average of(20.40±5.90)months.The treatment success rate was 77.14%.Among them,27 patients had stable or improved conditions, and 8 patients had disease progression.Patients in the brace treatment group were followed up for 12 to 51 months, with an average of(26.70±13.50)months.The treatment success rate was 89.19%.Among them,33 patients had stable or improved conditions, and 4 patients had disease progression. Conclusion Exercise observation, specific body movement therapy and brace therapy all demonstrated high success rates in this study and are effective treatment methods.
