Abstract:Objective To analyze the effects of minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis(MIPO)and external fixation on surgical stress response and complication rates in patients with limb fractures. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 96 patients with limb fractures admitted to Kaifeng People's Hospital from August 2021 to April 2023.They were divided into a control group and an observation group, each consisting of 48 patients. The control group received external fixation, while the observation group underwent MIPO.Surgical indicators, surgical excellence rate, postoperative pain levels(numeric rating scale,NRS),inflammatory stress response indicators[norepinephrine(NE),epinephrine(E),adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH),interleukin-1(IL-1)levels]before and after surgery, and complication rates were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time and fracture healing time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the intraoperative blood loss was less, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The surgical excellence rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).On the 1st,2nd,5th,and 7th days after surgery, the NRS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).On the 1st day after surgery, the levels of serum NE,E,ACTH and IL-1 in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total complication rate of the observation group(8.33%)was lower than that of the control group(25.00%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with external fixation,MIPO in patients with limb fractures can improve surgical indicators, shorten the recovery process, reduce postoperative pain, inhibit inflammatory stress response, and has high safety.
