The Effect of Esmolol Combined with Posterior Pituitary Hormone in the Treatment of Patients with Severe Sepsis
HE Jicheng
Abstract:Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of esmolol combined with posterior pituitary extract in the treatment of severe sepsis patients. Methods The clinical data of 72 patients with severe sepsis treated in Zhangzhou Zhengxing Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 36 cases in each group, based on the treatment plan. The control group was treated with posterior pituitary extract, while the observation group was treated with esmolol combined with posterior pituitary extract. The clinical efficacy, hemodynamic parameters[heart rate(HR),mean arterial pressure(MAP)],oxygenation index(OI),blood lactate(LaC),serum inflammatory factors[procalcitonin(PCT),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)],and myocardial function[serum troponin I(cTnI),B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP),creatine kinase isoenzyme(CK-MB)]of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group(97.22%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(83.33%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 24 hours of treatment, the levels of serum PCT,hs-CRP,IL-6,cTnI,BNP,CK-MB,LaC,and HR in both groups were significantly decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Meanwhile,MAP and OI in both groups were significantly increased, and those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of severe sepsis patients with esmolol combined with posterior pituitary extract can improve the clinical efficacy, enhance myocardial function, effectively improve the hemodynamic state of patients, reduce the inflammatory response and vascular injury, and correct hypoxia.
