Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effects of active ureaplasma urealyticum(UU)infection on routine semen parameters, morphological structure and sperm motility function in Hakka men. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 785 Hakka men who visited the Heyuan Women and Children's Hospital from May 2023 to June 2024.The UU in the samples was detected by simultaneous amplification and testing.(SAT)technology.According to the SAT test results of Ureaplasma urealyticum ribonucleic acid(UU-RNA)detection,785 research subjects were divided into the UU positive group(202 cases)and the UU negative group(583 cases). The routine semen parameters, semen morphological structure parameters and sperm motility function parameters of two groups of Hakka men were detected and compared. Results The semen volume of Hakka men in the UU positive group was significantly smaller than that in the UU negative group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the morphological and structural parameters of semen between the two groups of Hakka men(P>0.05).The lateral swing amplitude(ALH),mean angular displacement(MAD),whiplash frequency(BCF),and curve rate(VCL)of Hakka males in the UU positive group were significantly greater than those in the UU negative group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion UU infection can lead to higher sperm activity and energy levels in Hakka men, resulting in a decrease in semen volume. The complication of its motility pathway and the increase in energy consumption may affect its ultimate reproductive efficiency.
