Abstract:Objective To gain an in-depth understanding of the current situation of human papillomavirus(HPV)infection among women in Shenzhen and its association with cervical lesions, and to provide a basis for formulating effective prevention and control strategies. Methods A study was conducted on 10 219 women who visited Shenzhen Second People's Hospital and underwent HPV genotyping tests from January 2023 to December 2023.Twenty-three HPV genotypes were determined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)reverse dot hybridization. The clinical data of the subjects were collected and grouped according to age and the results of cervical liquid-based cytology(TCT).The HPV infection status and its relationship with cervical lesions were analyzed. Results Among 10 219 subjects examined,2118 were HPV positive, with a total positive rate of 20.73%.The HPV infection rate varies among women of different age groups.Women aged 60 and above have the highest age-related infection rate, reaching 28.76%.The infection rate among women under the age of 30 is also relatively high, reaching 25.89%.The infection rates among women aged 30-39 and 50-59 were 20.14%and 19.70%respectively.However,the infection rate among women aged 40 to 49 was relatively low,at 16.22%.Among high-risk HPV infections, the infection rates of HPV16 and HPV58 were relatively high in HPV-positive patients, which were 5.71%and 7.03%respectively.Moreover,the infection rates of high-risk HPV16,HPV18,HPV52,and PV58 in the severe group were significantly higher than those in the non-severe group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The HPV infection rate among women in the Shenzhen area is relatively high. There are certain differences in the HPV infection rate among women of different age groups. The HPV infection rate is higher among women aged≥60 years and<30 years.Among HPV-positive patients, the infection rates of high-risk types HPV16 and HPV18 are relatively high, and high-risk HPV has a certain relationship with the degree of cervical lesions.HPV vaccination should be strengthened, cervical cancer screening strategies optimized, and more targeted public health strategies formulated to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer.
