Abstract:Objective To analyze the quality of life and cognitive function of patients with chronic renal failure(CRF)accompanied by cognitive dysfunction in different Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome types, and to analyze the correlation between the quality of life and cognitive function of patients with CRF accompanied by cognitive dysfunction. Methods A total of 90 patients with CRF accompanied by cognitive dysfunction who visited Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Affiliated Hospital of Henan Academy of Chinese Medicine from March 2023 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The clinical data of all patients were collected and a retrospective study was conducted. All patients were divided into the spleen and kidney qi deficiency group(35 cases),the kidney and spleen Yang deficiency group(15 cases),the spleen and kidney qi and Yin deficiency group(19 cases),and the liver and kidney Yin deficiency group(21 cases)according to the TCM syndrome types. The quality of life and cognitive function of the four groups of patients were statistically analyzed, and the correlation between the quality of life and cognitive function of patients with CRF accompanied by cognitive dysfunction was analyzed. Results The scores of the World Health Organization quality of life-brief version(WHOQOL-BREF)from high to low were liver and kidney Yin deficiency group, kidney and spleen Yang deficiency group, spleen and kidney qi deficiency group, spleen and kidney qi Yin deficiency group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)scores of patients from high to low were spleen and kidney qi Yin deficiency group, spleen and kidney qi deficiency group, kidney and spleen Yang deficiency group, liver and kidney Yin deficiency group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)score of patients in the spleen and kidney qi and Yin deficiency group was higher than that of the spleen and kidney qi deficiency group>the kidney and spleen Yang deficiency group>the liver and kidney Yin deficiency group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The MoCA score of patients with CRF accompanied by cognitive dysfunction was positively correlated with the WHOQOL-BREF score(r=0.441,P=0.027).Conclusion There are differences in the quality of life and cognitive function among patients with CRF accompanied by cognitive dysfunction in different TCM syndrome types, and their cognitive function is proportional to the quality of life.
