Abstract:Objective Explore the differences in amplitude integrated electroencephalography between naturally conceived infants of the same gestational age and in vitro fertilization infants, and provide clinical evidence for early intervention that may be needed in the future. Methods Newborns born at Nanning Maternal and Child Health Hospital between 2021 and 2024,with gestational weeks between 28~41+6 weeks, were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into an in vitro fertilization group(experimental group)and a natural conception group(control group)according to their conception methods. They were then further divided into three subgroups based on gestational age, namely the 28~33+6 week group, the 34~36+6 week group, and the 37~41+6 week group, for a total of six groups.According to a 1:1 ratio, each group consists of 30 newborns. The group continuity(Co),sleep wake cycle(Cy),lower boundary amplitude(LB),bandwidth and lower boundary amplitude(B)were compared between groups, and the amplitude integrated electroencephalogram(EEG)brain development maturity score(T)was calculated. Results The Co,Cy,LB,B,and T values of infants in the experimental group with gestational age of 28~33+6 weeks were lower than those in the control group with gestational age of 28~33+6 weeks, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The Co,Cy,LB,B,and T values of infants in the experimental group with gestational age of 34~36+6 weeks were lower than those in the control group with gestational age of 34~36+6 weeks, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the Co,Cy,LB,B,and T measurements between infants with gestational age of 37~41+6 weeks in the experimental group and those in the control group. Conclusion There is a certain difference in amplitude integrated electroencephalography between naturally conceived infants and in vitro fertilization infants of the same gestational age, indicating that in vitro fertilization may be more prone to brain damage, mental and cognitive abnormalities than naturally conceived infants, and requires close monitoring and timely intervention.
