Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of inhalation of N-acetylcysteine combined with budesonide on pulmonary function and serum micro ribonucleic acid-21(miR-21),interleukin-6(IL-6)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Methods A total of 100 children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia admitted to The Sixth People's Hospital of Luoyang from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects and divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with budesonide, and the observation group was treated with inhalation of N-acetylcysteine on the basis of the treatment of the control group. The pulmonary function indexes, the levels of serum inflammatory factors, serum miR-21 and STAT3 levels were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, when comparing the levels of forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),vital capacity(FVC)and peak expiratory flow(PEF)between the two groups, the levels in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, when comparing the levels of IL-6,interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)between the two groups, the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, when comparing the levels of serum miR-21 and STAT3 between the two groups, the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of inhalation of N-acetylcysteine combined with budesonide in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia can effectively improve pulmonary function, relieve the inflammatory response, and reduce the levels of the IL-6/STAT3 inflammatory signaling pathway and serum miR-21,with remarkable effects.
