Research on the Application of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Concept of Preventive Treatment of Disease in the Infectious Disease Health Education Course for College Students

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of the concept of preventive treatment of disease in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in the infectious disease health education course for college students.Methods A total of 4 570 college students from June 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to different time periods,they were divided into a control group(2611,from June 2021 to an May 2022)and an observation group(1959,from June 2022 May 2023).The control group received health education using conventional Methods,while the observation group combined the concept of preventive treatment of disease in TCM.Both groups completed 6 months of imfections disease health education,and the cognitive level of infectious diseases,health literacy,and the awareness rate of infectious disease-related health education were compared between the two groups.Results After 6 months of health education,the scores of disease knowledge,sources of infection,preventive measures,routes of transmission,physical exercise,and changes in living habits in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 6 months of health education,the scores of basic knowledge and concepts of infectious diseases,prevention of infectious diseases,management and treatment of infectious diseases,and identification of pathogens and infectious diseases in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically signifcant(P<0.05).The awareness rate of infectious disease-related health education in the observation group after 6 months of health education was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically signifcant(P<0.05).Conclusion Applying the concept of preventive treatment of disease in TCM to the infectious disease health education course for college students can improve their cognitive level of infectious diseases,enhance their health literacy,and increase the awareness rate of infectious disease-related health education,effectively enhancing the awareness of infectious disease prevention among college students.
