Effect and Safety of Infrared Physiotherapy on Symptoms after Unilateral Primary Inguinal Hernia Repair

Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect and safety of infrared physiotherapy on the symptoms of patients after unilateral primary inguinal hernia repair.Methods Eighty patients receiving unilateral initial inguinal hernia repair treatment in the Department of General Surgery of Jinjiang Anhai Hospital from January 2020 to August 2024 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method.40 patients in the control group received conventional treatment after surgery,and 40 patients in the observation group received infrared physical therapy after surgery.Before treatment and after 7 days of treatment,the comprehensive effect of symptoms,pain,complications and other indicators of the two groups were compared.Results The comprehensive curative effect of symptoms in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 and 7 days of treatment,the pain score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);Compared with the control group,the total incidence of postoperative incision infection rate,incision redness,hernia recurrence and urinary retention in observation group were lower,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Infrared physical rehabilitation therapy for patients with unilateral initial inguinal hernia repair is helpful to improve the comprehensive effect of symptoms,relieve postoperative pain perception,and reduce the incidence of complications.
